HURRICANE MESH - ARAMID (KEVLARŪ) WRAPPED STAINLESS STEEL
This has to be the most innovative product to come into the hurricane shutter industry in the last 3 decades. This product looks like regular screen with approximatly the same transparency as regular screen but it is made of incredibly strong materials that hardly move when they are impacted. The foundation for the mesh, Aramid, is one of the strongest existing materials in the world. It is the basic material for Kevlar, which is the trademark and registered name from Dupoint. This technologically advanced fiber is used when you need protection under extreme circumstances: bullet proof vests, motorcycle helmets and airplane wings are just a few examples of where Aramid is doing its job. All of these products need to combine maximum protection with minimum weight and they need to deliver every time. With approved spans exceeding those of other shutter products, we have started to recomend this product on widows as well as lanais and oversized openings.

This product is also very well suited for the commercial industry and for hoteliers looking for a quality product that will last more than a few years and can direct mount close to glass surfaces without fear of significant deflection like all other screens we've seen.

The tracks are a decorative custom design that hide the mounting bolts making this perfect for high visabilty areas such as front doors and open commercial areas. POLYPROPYLENE - HURRICANE SCREEN / FABRIC
The most common product due to cost and availability, polypropylene hurricane screen can be an effective solution to large lanai areas or other oversized areas where glass (windows or doors) are NOT close to the area being covered. The reason for this is polypropylene 'gives' when hit by any moving object as a trampoline 'gives' when a person jumps on it (approximately 2' of deflection or 'give'). For this reason we try to inform our clients that this product is typically NOT A GOOD PRODUCT if glass is closer than 2' from the opening.

Another reason for the popularity is the light weight of the screen. Each sq. yard weighs approximately 7.5 ounces making it one of the lightest products on the market.

Unlike the Maestran or Kevlar material hurricane faric is easily torn or cut so be careful not to use this product in areas that contain sharp objects.
