| Here is a simple way to calculate the cost of Accordion Shutters by the square foot. Price Formula
 Using the window diagram you can figure out the cost of the shutter per window. The shutters are priced per square foot. All of your measurement will be done in inches. So here is an easy formula to convert square inches into square feet. The first thing you do is determine the width of the opening, in this case the width is 36" wide. Now you must go to the accordion chart, so click the accordion chart below. Locate 36", 36 " falls between 33 1/2-39". Follow the chart to the right this width will need a track length of 49". You need a 49" wide track so when your accordion is opened the unit "stacks" out of view of the opening. Now add 6" to the height, we will come of with 58". Now lets figure the square feet. See diagram below. (Our track is 49" wide because of the extra width is needed for the shutter stack.) If you have a trapped window. (Trapped is the shutter mounted inside the window instead of outside.) Use the exact measurements.
